Agim Hushi (i lindur më 1 maj 1967) është një tenor i klasit botëror, i lindur në Shqipëri dhe me shtetësi australiane.

Jeta

Pas studimeve të tij universitare për letërsi dhe psikologji në Tiranë, Agim Hushi u vu re për zërin e tij tenor. Ka studiuar në Akademinë Shqiptare të Arteve në Tiranë nga e cila është diplomuar në vitin 1991.

Prej vitit 1991-1992 ishte tenor kryesor me Operan Shtetërore të Shqipërisë, ku luajti në Toska, Cavalleria Rusticana dhe Il Trovatore. Prej vitit 1992-1995 vazhdoi studimet pasdiplomike në Akademinë e Muzikës Franz Liszt në Budapest, ku, paralelisht me studimet vokale, u specializua në pedagogjinë e këndimit.

Në vitin 1995, ai u emërua tenor kryesor në Operën e Shtetit hungarez, ku luajti rolet kryesore në opera, përfshirë Manon Lescout, Turandot, Il Tabarro, Il Lombardi dhe Purgacov.

Në vitin 1997, ai u transferua në Australi pasi u ftua për të kryer rolin e Des Grieux në Manon Lescaut të Puçinit, për Operën Shtetërore Australiane të Jugut në Adelaide, nën bastionin e maestro Richard Bonynge, i cili do të thoshte: Agim Hushi dhe Laura Niculescu janë aktorët më të mirë në botë sot “.

Ai pastaj këndoi në të njëjtën opera për Opera Australi. Disa kritikë e krahasuan atë me tenorin legjendar Beniamino Gigli.

Hushi vazhdoi të këndonte në Azi, Zelandën e Re dhe SHBA. Në vitin 1999 me një grant të qeverisë australiane ai shkoi për një përvojë belcanto në Milano me Franco Corelli, i cili shkroi për të: “Zëri i Agim Hushit është i fortë dhe i bukur dhe ai meriton një karrierë ndërkombëtare”.

Hushi ka performuar në Australi, Zelandën e Re, Kinë, Shtetet e Bashkuara, Malajzia, Singapori, Brunei, Dubai, Hungaria, Gjermania, Rusia, Sllovenia, Maqedonia, Kosova, Kroacia, Republika Çeke, Rumania, Bullgaria, Danimarkë, Itali, Spanjë, Mbretërinë e Bashkuar, Zvicër, Shqipëri dhe Austri.

Rolin e tij kryesor janë ato të Cavaradosi, Calaf, Des Grieux, Radames, Manrico, Luigi, Canio dhe Turiddu.

Në 2010 Agim Hushi regjistroi me sopranon shqiptare Inva Mula CD-në e saj të re për EMI, Il Bel Sogno me arie operistike e mbështetur nga Orkestra Filarmonike e Zagrebit. Në tetor të vitit 2012 Agim Hushi regjistroi albumin e tij të parë solo AMORE GRANDE me këngët më të famshme të tenorit nën shkopin e A. Pavlic dhe ORCHESTRA E RE SIMFONIKE E EVROPËS. Ky CD ishte konsideruar nga Deutsche Grammophon dhe kritikët si një nga CD më të mirë që nga ditët më të mira të Di Stefanos në të gjitha regjistrimet.

Hushi ishte drejtor i Departamentit të Opera në Konservatorin e Vjenës. Ai ishte një themelues i Shkollës Belcanto të Singing në Adelaide, Australi. [1] [2] [3]

Agim Hushi (born 1 May 1967) is a world class tenor, Albanian-born, Australian-naturalized.

Life

After his university studies for literature and psychology in Tirana, Agim Hushi was noted for his tenor voice. He studied at the Albanian Academy of Arts in Tirana from which he graduated in 1991.

From 1991-1992 he was principal tenor with the Albanian State Opera, where he performed in Tosca, Cavalleria Rusticana and Il Trovatore. From 1992-1995 he continued his postgraduate studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest where, in parallel with vocal studies, he specialized in pedagogy of singing.

In 1995 he was appointed principal tenor at the Hungarian State Opera where he performed major roles ranging in operas including Manon Lescout, Turandot, Il Tabarro, Il Lombardi and Purgacov.

In 1997, he moved to Australia after having been invited to perform the role of Des Grieux in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, for the South Australian State Opera in Adelaide under the baton of maestro Richard Bonynge who was noted as saying: “In my entire experience working with Agim Hushi has been a wonderful discovery. Agim Hushi and Laura Niculescu are the best cast in the world today”.

He then sang in the same opera for Opera Australia. Some critics compared him to the legendary tenor Beniamino Gigli.^{[citation needed]}

Hushi continued to sing around Asia, New Zealand and USA. In 1999 with an Australian government grant he went for a belcanto experience in Milan with Franco Corelli, who wrote of him: “Agim Hushi’s voice is strong and beautiful and he deserve an International career”.

Hushi has performed in Australia, New Zealand, China, The United States, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Dubai, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Croatia, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Cyprus, Denmark, Italy, Spain, UK, Switzerland, Albania and Austria.

His primary roles are those of Cavaradosi, Calaf, Des Grieux, Radames, Manrico, Luigi, Canio and Turiddu.

In 2010 Agim Hushi recorded with Albanian soprano Inva Mula for EMI her new CD, Il Bel Sogno with operatic arias supported by Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. In October 2012 Agim Hushi recorded his first solo album AMORE GRANDE with the most famous tenor songs under the baton of A. Pavlic and NEW EUROPE SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA. This CD was regarded from Deutsche Grammophon and critics as one of the best CD since Di Stefanos best days in all tenors recordings.

Hushi is currently the Head of the Opera Department at the Vienna Conservatorium. He was a founder of Belcanto School of Singing in Adelaide, Australia.^[1][2][3]

Awards

1. September, 1999 – Agim Hushi was the Winner of the “Jane Potter Foundation” in Australia for his achievmant in Opera and for his high class performances on world opera stages.
2. April, 2000 – Agim Hushi was awarded the “Emerging Artist of the Year 2000” from the Premier of Australia.
3. June, 2005 – His Excellency Ammbasador of UNITED NATIONS in Albania, Waheed Waheedullah, awarded Agim Hushi with the Golden Medal of UN.
4. March 29, 2012 – The President of The Albanian Republic Mr.Bamir Topi awarded Agim Hushi with Golden Medal, GREAT MASTER of Arts.
5. May 26, 2012 – Agim Hushi received the title of PROFESSOR from Qingdao Technological University, P.R.C.
6. June 20, 2012 – Professor Agim Hushi was awarded the highest title of HONORARY CITIZEN at his native city of Kavajë.
